Limestone Blocks from the Sphinx Temple (Giza Plateau) 

These massive limestone blocks from the Sphinx Temple were quarried from the same local bedrock as the Great Sphinx itself. They illustrate the type of limestone used to carve the monument, as well as how surrounding structures were constructed from material extracted during the excavation of the Sphinx enclosure.
