Parallels have been observed in discussions surrounding alternative identifications of the Great Sphinx’s face.
This close-up also highlights that, in addition to the loss of the nose and the Royal Uraeus (the cobra emblem on the forehead), the earlobes have also been damaged. All three features are comparable to forms of damage seen on the head of the Great Sphinx of Giza.
